The Crested Butte area will get a short reprieve for the second day in a row from accumulating snowfall. Today you can expect filtered sunshine and moderate westerly winds. A weak ridge slid into the area but will be short lived. A moist Pacific storm is just off the coast of California and set to make it’s way inland. This system will begin impacting the area tonight and will produce a healthy shot of snowfall on Wednesday through midday Thursday. Weather models are predicting total accumulations, by the end of the day on Thursday, from 10″ to 20″. As soon as this system moves out on Thursday evening, a second snow maker looks to steam into the area on Friday. The pow train appears to be rolling through Crested Butte again…all aboard.
